For over 12 years I have been teaching and learning as an elementary educator. I am dedicated to inspiring and empowering children to wonder, and discover themselves and this world through autonomy and joyful rigor. Lesson design and classroom management are two ways I engage students and differentiate learning to meet the needs of each learner. By eliminating barriers and aligning the curriculum to the students' needs and interests, each child receives the education and develops the intrinsic motivation they deserve as a life long learner. Formative assessments and flexibility are two core values in my classroom. Maintaining safety, reflection and positive reinforcements create a learning culture where my students (and myself) thrive. Through respectful communications and our school community I work to ensure all students' academic and social developments are valued and fostered. In addition to the day to day teaching and learning I do, I also immerse myself in future focused professional development, volunteer work and committee participation to continually align my values with the growing needs of our future generations.
