I chose to work in mental health because I find it is a perfect blend of science and art. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner I appreciate the empirical nature of psychopharmacology and solution-focused psychotherapy blended with the qualitative nature of diagnostics and human behavior. I appreciate working in a capacity that allows me to build strong therapeutic relationships with my patients as well as working in a leadership role within the company in order to make more macro changes which can impact the industry as a whole.
