As a PhD in Biomedical Engineering and AI Researcher with Weill Cornell Medicine, I became deeply passionate about harnessing the power of technology to improve health outcomes. Drawing on my personal health journey and 14 years of research expertise, I founded SOCAi Labs, an AI research lab focused on innovative solutions that change the way people access and interact with healthcare. While completing my PhD, I had a near-death experience driven by a misdiagnosis that changed the way I looked at personal health and how our healthcare system functions. Nearly 1M people, in the U.S. alone, die or are permanently disabled by misdiagnosis each year - with that number even higher for those not diagnosed due to lack of access to care. Small data points can be key indicators of large health problems, and no one should have to experience losing a loved one because of overlooked information about their body.At SOCAi Labs we see this as a problem that will touch everyone or someone they love at some point in their life, and one that we have the technology to solve. Decreasing the burdens we place on providers, increasing diagnostic capabilities, and providing data transparency for physicians and patients are just some of the ways we are using AI to improve how our health system makes care decisions. Looking to the future we believe that telehealth technologies will deliver unprecedented access to health resources for more people than ever before in human history, and we are building AI tools to transform what that standard of care looks like from the moment it arrives.
