My first few years were spent doing mechanical design on Lexmark's high-end color laser printers - specifically the paper path and output options of the printer. This included CAD design, prototyping, testing, tool reviews, part approvals, and production assembly line supervision. My next role was to mentor new engineers in the Philippines as they did mechanical design for high-end color laser input options. This included extensive travel to the Philippines to review and critique their designs, leading the new team through the design process/development stages, coordinating design reviews with Lexington based engineers, and organizing various pre-production builds to guarantee a fully functional final product.
