I work as a 1:1 special education teacher to children with learning differences attending private and parochial schools

I currently teach students with learning differences at The Laura Cushman Academy. I am currently in Kindergarten, but have taught 2nd-4th grade. I focus on the whole child through differentiation, and the students’ emotional well-being. I use learning centers, teach students in small groups, and incorporate appropriate technology and mindfulness activities into the classroom. I believe in play based learning.

In this role I worked with students from nursery through Year 8 (9th grade). I gained experience teaching The British National Curriculum and The IB. I was able to work in a variety of settings and held a long term head teacher role in both Year 3 and Year 4.

I created my own unique science curriculum for students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade. Students did hands on activities to learn about animals, the human body, space, and more.
