Community Living Services is the third largest non-profit organization in the state of Michigan. It has assisted people with intellectual and developmental disabilities for more than 30 years. Our mission and vision drives us in everything we do in helping people achieve a successful life of inclusion and freedom. Part of my responsibilities include working with my strong media connections and pitching positive news stories concerning people with disabilities. I educate the public on focusing on ABILITIES not disabilities! I am also responsible for all forms of communication, internal and external i.e. social media, web site, intranet, newsletters, brochures as well as corporate crisis communications, fundraising and special events. Our signature fundraising event brings in 1,000 donors annually and is the highlight of the year for many. I also work with legislators in bringing awareness to key disability issues affecting thousands every day. I am a passionate PR pro who loves to write, work with the media, Board members, stakeholders, and lawmakers to move forward our organization's corporate mantra, "Look at ME, not my disabiity!"

Managed all aspects of public relations, crisis communication, brand manager, managed new business clients, managed million dollar budgets, mid-level accounts including health care, hotels, hospitals, restaurants, non-profits and b2b communications.

Wrote and produced 6pm newscast. Managed all aspects of the news including working with reporters, extensive writing, managing multiple live shots and other aspects of a newscast.

A news producer oversees all elements of a newscast, writing copy, working with writers, reporters anchors, studio crew and of course, your director who you should always be nice to especially in the control room.

My responsibilities at Channel 3 included writing copy for the news anchors, choosing stories for the 6pm news, responsible for all live elements of the show, graphics and editorial content of the newscast.
