CurrentLeads development of NC Child’s annual public policy agendaWorks with program staff and contract lobbyist to develop legislative strategyLeads lobbying and collaborative work with partner organizations, legislators, legislative staff, and state administrative staff in support of organizational policy prioritiesBuilds and maintains strategic relationships with legislators, administration officials, and other policymakersSupports Child Advocacy Network hub organizations in building strong relationships with their elected officialsMaintains a working knowledge of recent policy decisions across all priority issue areas of the organizationTracks the status of state and federal legislationWhen appropriate, participates in state-level advocacy coalitions, task forces, and workgroups relevant to NC Child’s policy prioritiesKeeps NC Child team up-to-date on relevant policy developments at the state and federal levelsProduces weekly legislative updates for the Child Advocacy Network
