  • The
    Educational Classroom Consultant
    The Dec 2012 - Mar 2013
Life Coaching with Tiffany Rae provides workshops and training programs that create a safe space and vocabulary for parents, children, and educators to dialogue openly about cultural diversity, self-esteem and identity. By engaging audience members with a multi-media experience, educational concepts come alive, allowing attendees to see, hear and feel content and, more importantly, context. Working with Educator, Ahngelique Davis, I was fortunate to be able to deliver a workshop series entitled, "An Educational Discussion on Identity and Self-Esteem" to several classes that included:•(Section I) Awareness- We Introduced the topic of Self-Esteem and Identity by reviewing what has already been covered in class on the subject of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs.•(Section II) Analysis- We Created a strong understanding among participants of their unconscious insensitivity. Self-awareness is an important step towards acknowledging and changing those practices and habits that are deemed culturally insensitive.•(Section II) Action- The final portion of the workshop allows us to move from a learning stage to an action stage as we discuss concepts and experiences of Identity and Self-Esteem. As individuals (especially children) we are constantly trying on new identities. We all have our own perspective, attitudes and biases, colored by life experiences and our membership in many different groups. Because our views, as individuals and as students, sons and daughters, affect our interaction with one another, it is important to bring them into conscious awareness. The goal of this hands-on process is to aid participants in recognizing the value of being “different and unique”, move participants towards a healthier concept of self-esteem, and connect participants to a better understanding of how their self-esteem is related more to the internal than the external forces that they face on a daily basis.

Annual Prayer Breakfast FundraiserInitiative for 2012: Homeless Female VeteransSaturday, May 19, 2012~ Time: 9:00am - 12pmHilton Hotel, City Avenue, Philadelphia, PAWe are the Women's Council of Philadelphia, Inc, a subsidiary of the Women's Council of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB) the oldest minority trade association. The number of homeless American women veterans is on the rise, according to a Government Accountability Office report and has doubled, from 4 percent in 1990 to 8 percent today. It estimates that 1.8 million American women veterans are homeless. When women first return home from war, they usually don't go directly to homelessness. But, unfortunately veterans do have a high rate of homelessness over all and as more time elapses between when they went to war and their situation today. Here are some facts: •Females make up 14-15 % of the US active-duty force & 14% of veterans & the percentage of women in the military has doubled in the last 30 years. •10% of all service members currently serving in Afghanistan are female. •6,500 - 7,000 female war veterans in the US are homeless - double the number of a decade ago. • Women are four times more likely to become homeless than their male counterparts. •One in 10 (~ 9%) of homeless vets under the age of 45 is female. Our long term goal is to develop and subsidize transitional housing for the underserved by collaborating with organizations for whom shelter services or other crisis intervention services are unavailable or insufficient. The funds will come from the proceeds of this event so your attendance and support is needed to make this a successful endeavor.
