NIH-DC Initiative to Reduce Infanty Mortality in Minority Populations.The goal of this phase of the initiative is to assess environmental tobacco smoke exposure in infants, and to test the efficacy of nicotine replacement therapy in pregnant smoking women. Pregnant participants are recruited and screened through the use of ACASI. Participants Duties include recruitment and retention of program participants, ACASI screening, delivering of interventions, administering one-on-one individual behavioral counseling, sample collection, administering questionnaires, and data entry.
