Tiffany R. Jansen is the author of the Mary, Daughter of Henry VII series for Medieval Maidens, which was awarded Creative Child Magazine’s Seal of Excellence as well as being named a “Book of the Year” winner in 2011. She is currently working on her first adult historical novel set in Renaissance Florence.As a journalist, Tiffany has written for Ensia, Hemispheres, The Atlantic, Parents, and Saveur among others. She earned her Dutch as a Second Language, or Nederlands als Tweede Taal diploma, issued by the government of the Netherlands, and has translated books from Dutch to English. Tiffany holds a BA in Musical Theater from American University and an MFA in Creative Writing from Reinhardt University. She also studied Humanities with a concentration in Renaissance Studies at Hood College and theater at the British American Drama Academy. In addition to writing, she teaches English and Creative Writing at GSU Perimeter College and Frederick Community College.Before becoming a writer, Tiffany worked as a professional actor in the DC Metro Area and had just embarked on a teaching career when she relocated to the Netherlands. There, she started her own performance education company, Little Broadway, offering after school theater programming for students at international schools throughout the country.Tiffany is a member of the Atlanta Writer's Club, the Georgia Writers Association, and the Renaissance Society of America.Aside from writing and theater, Tiffany enjoys crafting, reading, dance, and traveling. She lives in Georgia with her Dutch husband, Dutch/American daughter, two idiotic cats, and a sweet jumping spider, and can frequently be found in her home-away-from-home, the Netherlands.
