I am a development practitioner who worked with diverse agricultural development programs in major agro ecologies and agri-subsystems of Ethiopia. I have Bsc in Agricultural Engineering and Msc in Soil Conservation & Land Reclamation Engineering. I have also taken number of thematic courses in project management and sustainable development.I started work as water engineer with advancement to senior managerial and advisory positions. I have hands-on experiences in designing and managing of holistic agricultural, livelihood and natural resources development programs with objective of stimulating sustainable socio-economic enhancement. I have worked in designing and implementing of Market systems based interventions and facilitated engagement of private and public market actors along value link from production to processing and distribution. I worked in Ethiopian Horticulture Producer Exporters Association (EHPEA) as Executive Director and Chief Technical Advisor with function of spearheading strategic for promoting commercialization and export market in Ethiopia and Sudan. I served as program Manager of the "Ethio-Netherlands Horticulture Partnership Program-ENHPP" to initiate partnerships in the public and private sector. I worked as Manager of Integrated natural resources development program in Blue Nile gorge aimed at intensification of the farming system through introduction of high value crops and facilitating access to market. This was destined to transform the livelihood from relief reliance to self-sustaining state. I have experience with multilaterally funded Third Livestock Development Project in Pastoral areas of Boran, Afar and Somali areas. I worked on incorporating conventional development approaches with the traditional systems of pastoralists. I have worked in organizing of smallholders’ Unions and coops for marketing and processing and linking with bigger commercial farms and exporters. I have worked on building capacities of producers, traders, logistics service providers. I have initiated and facilitated establishment of the Ethiopian Fruits and Vegetables Processors Manufacturing Industries Association and worked on assessing of tomatoes & Mangoes processing business opportunitiesI have worked on the improvement of processed products quality and producing procedures of private processing companies. I have served as member of the Ethiopian Horticulture Sector Strategy development team. I participated in designing of agricuLtural and food systems related policies and strategies development..
