Hostage NegotiatorNipas-Est Sep 2007 - Dec 2014NIPAS-EST is one of the largest multi-jurisdictional municipal SWAT teams in the United States, serving 60 municipalities, 5 counties, and over 1.8 million residents in the suburban Chicago area. I was assigned as a crisis and hostage negotiator with this team, receiving training from the FBI and elite negotiators across the country. We negotiated incidents with suicidal subjects, armed barricaded subjects, hostage takers and assisted with other high risk calls for service, in an effort to use verbal influence to reach peaceful resolutions.
