Starting in May 2022, I had the opportunity to work alongside Dr. Chris McNeil at the University of British Columbia Okanagan Campus, one of the best universities in the world. In his Integrative Neuromuscular Physiology Lab I got an unfiltered experience on how modern and meaningful research is conducted. Highlight was the planing, execution and evaluation of my own pilot study, including 10 participants. Using a dynamometer and treadmill, I studied the effects of isometric strength in the lower limbs on the uphill running performance. The practical lessons I learned during the experiments are invaluable. I want to thank the School of Health and Exercise Science's and especially Dr. Chris McNeil for taking me on as an intern and giving me the chance to explore the field of research.
