I founded Backslang in 2016, a platform for diverse minds within the spoken word scene. I organise, promote, curate and host events with the aim of elevating new and established poets, making poetry accessible and enjoyable to all kinds of people and bringing people together through words and music.

I’m part of innocent drinks’ in-house creative studio, producing conceptual, creative and technical copywriting for ATL concepts, packaging, shopper marketing, global marketing toolkits, digital content, corporate communications and community management. Some projects involve writing and nothing else, and on others I have the good fortune of collaborating with our talented design team in a traditional ad creative model. When I’m not writing words and coming up with ways to sell crushed fruit and veg, I lead regular creative workshops internally and for partner agencies. I’m also heavily involved in the broader culture of the business, as the lead of innocent’s Fariness in Gender affinity network, a very active member of the LGBTQIA+ affinity group and as a passionate and trusted advocate for a fairer and more inclusive workplace. Among other things, I’ve helped to develop an inclusive parental leave policy, addressed our gender pay gap and hosted local students on innocent’s first ever work experience programme. Show less

I joined innocent as part of the brand team, with a role in community management. The team’s job is to protect the brand’s tone of voice, activate social marketing campaigns, and make sure every person who interacts with the innocent brand on social channels has the maximum chance of becoming an advocate. We created proactive posts about the things we make, sustainability, the people who work at innocent and the 4th floor stapler. As a member of the brand team I also led the innocent Big Knit campaign - the one with all the little hats on bottles in support of Age UK. I began acting professionally when I was 16 after signing with International Artists. I continued in the profession for the next decade, moving to InterTalent Group (previously Cole Kitchenn), before writing, producing, directing and touring a one woman show, and performing roles for Sky and the BBC. In 2017, in spite of a busy career, I made the tough decision that routine was underestimated and an actor’s life was not for me.
