Tilman Thürmer is the founder of Shanghai-based design agency COORDINATION ASIA. Born in Berlin in 1972, he studied architecture at the Berlin University of the Arts, co-founded COORDINATION BERLIN in 2004, and later relocated to China in 2009. His work includes strategies, content and designs for numerous museums in China such as the Shanghai Film Museum and Shanghai Museum of Glass. The success of the Shanghai Museum of Glass transformed the area into a museum park, leading to further projects such as the Kids Museum of Glass and Design Wing. In 2015, Tilman became its Design Director and Vice President.
