I am a skilled negotiator, fundraiser and conservation professional, serving in leadership roles with land trusts and communities for more than twenty-five years, first in southern Africa and since 1998 in the northeastern United States. I am a registered lobbyist in Connecticut and an effective advocate for federal conservation funding and programs. I have facilitated more than 10,000 acres of land protection and leveraged more than $26.2 million in public and private funding for these projects. I lead the innovative and trailblazing "Follow the Forest" initiative to protect and enhance a nationally significant climate corridor across multiple states between the lower Hudson Valley and Canada. I specialize in collaborative conservation, complex negotiations, new models of conservation finance and forging shared visions to address the overarching imperatives of the climate crisis and environmental justice. I led the team that achieved Land Trust Accreditation for the Housatonic Valley Association in 2014. I serve on Senator Chris Murphy's Conservation In Connecticut Council and am past Chair of the Connecticut Land Conservation Council (CLCC). I am on the four-state Steering Committee of the Highlands Conservation Act partnership and administer the Connecticut State Committee of the Highlands Coalition. I also serve on the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection's Natural Heritage, Open Space & Watershed Land Acquisition Review Board.
