About Tim Amick

As Vice President of Creative at NextVR, Tim oversaw post production and visual effects for the leading broadcaster of live events and on-demand live action experiences in virtual reality. With an ever-expanding list of world-class partners like the NBA, NHL, Live Nation, WWE, UCB Comedy, and others, NextVR used the power of virtual reality to create unprecedented access to the best sports and entertainment events. As an early member of the NextVR team, he has spent overfive years exclusively focused on creating live-action stereoscopic VR experiences. Tim and the NextVR team created new 3D live-action VR experiences every week, ranging from short form documentaries to immersive feature experiences to full 2+ hour live broadcasts. They constantly experimented with innovative storytelling techniques in this fast-growing medium. Prior to NextVR, Tim spent 10 years at leading IMAX documentary production company MacGillivray Freeman Films, where he worked as assistant editor, VFX supervisor and editor on 7 giant screen theatrical releases distributed worldwide and ran the post production team for a multi-year ocean conservation multimedia campaign, One World One Ocean.
