Senior Project Manager at NSW PortsA senior project role collaborating with the NSW Ports Infrastructure & Planning teams to deliver state significant developments in both suburban Sydney and on the quay-line at Port Botany. With primary governance responsibilities for the development & construction of a 66 hectare intermodal logistics centre at Enfield in Sydney, I apply best practice program management methodology to deliver innovative, environmentally sustainable facilities for New South Wales. Furthermore, I lead the NSW Ports project team in the development of the Sydney AutoStrad Botany Rail Expansion. This state significant project will deliver four new 600m rail sidings and an automated rail unload interface for the existing terminal, reducing the total number of trucks on our roads.

I have been invited by the John Lewis Partnership to lead the £261M implementation of two complex supply chain development projects to support the agility required by the JLP omni-channel retail proposition. The primary project consolidates a number of regional DC's into a campus style National Distribution Centre consisting of three large interlinked warehouses. This consolidation delivers significant cost benefits through the incorporation of an automated garment hanging solution together with innovative Y-LOG shuttle automation. These solutions dovetail into more traditional tote based automation, delivering intelligent packing solutions thereby reducing downstream logistics needs. The second project consolidates a number of regional facilities into the campus environment in a more conventional fashion. A large multi-activity warehouse will combine the bulky furniture and electrical goods operation (2-Man deliveries) with the Cut-Fabrics function and smaller 1-Man delivery activities within the vast John Lewis offering. To facilitate the functional consolidation, three very distinct Warehouse Management Systems are being consolidated into one multi-discipline platform at the cost of £8M. Driven by ambitious growth plans and an exponential growth in online sales, the John Lewis Partnership is making significant investment in its supply chain operations. These two projects will be delivered to meet operational expectations, on time & within budget.

A contract based, senior project management role. In support of GrainCorp’s rapid expansion of its burgeoning export market I applied best practise project management methodologies to deliver key strategic projects, large infrastructure projects & important innovative procurement projects. The role was responsible for the delivery of a number of significant “Game-Changer” projects. These included;• the initiation and execution of a National Containerisation Strategy, • R&D, design, procurement & deployment of a $19M materials handling equipment project,• the program management of a suite of projects for the GrainCorp rail infrastructure team.Key Responsibilities• Encouraged rigorous, professional, staff inclusive, procurement practices & managed them according to sound Project Management principals. • Delivered a suite of complex projects to a high quality. A senior management role providing leadership and guidance for the CEVA/Mazda business in Australia, responsible for steering the relationship from a previously untenable position, to a stable, profitable and mutually beneficial, commercial partnership. The role was simultaneously charged with re-designing the construction and implementation of an $17M new facility for CEVA.Key Responsibilities• Managed business unit P&L to ensure cost constraint and maximise profitability. Developed and cascaded business plans. Managed employees to ensure job satisfaction and measured productivity was maintained.• Established KPI’s, SWP’s, SOP’s and work instructions to “Boiler Plate” the operation whilst ensuring sound relationships with client, guaranteeing their customer experience was maximised.• Designed and implemented a major Project........On time, On budget, with a Zero Defect Start-Up. • Change managed the business unit away from manual transactions to innovative, 3G networked, WMS technology.
