An active member of the CUPW National Executive Board and also a key officer in the operation of the National Union. Provides an active link between the members in the region and the rest of the Union through the National Executive Board.Responsible for providing leadership in the region in all aspects of Union activity, monitoring day-to-day problems in regards to negotiations, working to raise union consciousness among the local officers and members and actively promoting Union policies.Responsible to assist all local officers in all aspects of their work and to inform them of all major matters affecting the members.Oversees the work of the Regional Education and Organization Officer, the Regional Grievance Officer and the Regional Union Representatives in the regional office.Supervises the work of the Administrative Assistants in the regional office.

An active member of the Regional Executive Committee;Promotes, organizes and facilitates union education in the region in accordance with the programs established by the 2nd National Vice-President;Responsible for internal and external organization in the region in conjunction with the 3rd National Vice President;Responsible for the integration, servicing and education of newly organized workers that are brought into the Union;Replaces the National Director when he/she is absent.

My responsibilities included the following:Prepare and present arbitration cases;Prepare and present Workers' Compensation reviews and appeals;Prepare and present Long Term Disability appeals;Facilitate Union education courses in the Regional and Locals;Write, submit and administrate grievance/arbitration files;Advise Locals on our collective agreements, arbitration decisions and Labour Law;
