Promoted to 2nd Assistant engineer and performed troubleshooting and PMs on vital plant machinery, such as the Fairbanks-Morse MAN 48/60 main diesel generators which supply 35.7 MW to the 6.6 kV high voltage bus. Led multiple cargo fuel transfers and directed proper line up for DFM and JP-5 RAS’s (Refueling at Sea) to naval vessels. Worked alongside MAN Diesel technical representatives during 36k hour overhauls of main diesel generators. Supervised and maintained the correct operation and cleaning of vital heat exchangers. Performed insulation testing of fan and pump motors and provided troubleshooting of machinery electrical circuits.
