I held the position of Deputy Secretary – Corporate, Heritage and Lands within the Department of Primary Industries Parks Water and Environment, Tasmania. In this role I had a diverse range of portfolios including: the Department’s corporate functions, Cultural and Natural heritage, the Land Titles Office and Biosecurity Tasmania . In total I had responsibility for over 500 staff with a combined operating budget of approximately $50 million.

The principle focus of the position was to provide strategic advice to the Minister and Tasmanian Government on a range of topics covered within the Minister’s board portfolio responsibilities.

Manage, lead and support the Corporate Support Division encompassing Human Resources, Information Management, Information Technology and Program Management, Commercial Services, Risk and Compliance and Internal Support and Communication (60 staff)

In June 2011 I was asked to take over the management of RBF’s strategic project to transition to a registrable superannuation entity (RSE) licensee regulated by the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA). The project required a modification to over 70% of RBF’s key business processes.

Delivered the transition of administration services from RBF to an outsourced provider. Including leading a project team of approximately 20 staff ($6m budget) and acting as lead negotiator for $70 million outsourcing agreement

Lead and manage Information Technology, Facilities Management and Information Management functions by providing supervision, mentoring and development to a team of 20 staff.

Planning and execution of organisational projects Completion of project planning activities including defining scope, activity planning and sequencing, resource allocation, schedules, time and cost estimation and budgets Identification, analysis and development of risk mitigation strategies Creation of GANT charts and schedules; scalability, interoperability and portability analysis
