Round and round and round life sometimes goes. Thankful to be back where I started my adult work life working with implementing Telecom E&O software systems for rural cooperatives across the US.

My wife and I’s side business. We manage the Jamestown Speedway on the Stutsman County Fairgrounds in Jamestown, ND. That includes scheduling events, staffing the concession stand, organizing volunteers, prepping the race surface each week, cleaning, bookwork, finding sponsors, and a few other details. We host weekly stock car racing every Saturday from May to August. Then the third weekend in September we host the annual Stock Car Stampede, when the fairgrounds turns into a mini city – with thousands or racers and fans coming from around the region to take in the festivities. We far from do this alone – many long-time volunteers, family members, friends, and of course dedicated racers, fans, sponsors, and a very supportive Jamestown Community are the real reason the speedway is a success.

Worked alongside the long time owners/operators of the speedway to learn the ins and outs of what it takes to run a speedway. Learned a lot, made some mistakes, had tons of fun, met and learned from many great people I hope to know for many years to come.

My unpaid weekend job in the summer. Basically I try to ensure that everyone is following the rules and nobody is cheating.It started out I was going to do this for a couple years while I finished college, but its turned in to at least seven years now. The plan is for this to be the first step on the road to owning my own race track.

Work with implementing and supporting Senior Housing Software at assisted living communities across the United States. Our software offers tools for managing services & medications for residents, generating work schedules for staff members, tracking resident’s billing information, along with many other innovative features (Resident Assessments, Sales CRM, KPI Dashboards, Financials, Notify Nurse Call System, Risk Management, just to name a few). I’ve learned over the years I have a passion for serving others and helping them to solve problems and meet needs to through products, services and improved processes, and Eldermark is a great place to do all of those things.

Implement Billing/Operational Support Systems for rural telecommunications companies. Mainly work with installing our billing system, but also work with our plant records, trouble ticket, and SwitchTalk2 applications. Project management, training users, analyzing data & processes, collaborating with coworkers, and learning new Excel functions are some of the highlights. Getting to help people and to solve problems are the best parts!

Worked on the construction crew the first summer, then became a fiber to the premise installer for three summers and one fall, plus Christmas breaks in between.Some people can say they started at ground leve with their careerl, I can say I started below ground level in the telecom industry!
