Senior Research Chemist, Combinatorial Chemistry, Automated Synthesis (1999 – 2002)Developed synthetic methods for compound libraries and library production. Worked out procedures to produce large libraries for random screening and focused projects to expand testing sets around interesting leads. • Skilled in use of automated synthesis equipment, solid phase synthesis, heterocyclic ring construction with multi-component condensations, polymer-bound reagents to scavenge side-products and adapting solution phase chemistry for large parallel arrays of analogs. • Directed research of support staff when warranted by project and guided summer intern student research.

Senior Research Chemist, Animal Health and Nutrition, Discovery Chemical Synthesis (1997 – 1999)Supported biology in new receptor-based screen development to look for anti-parasitic leads. Synthesized model compounds to validate screens.
