At Ante-Holz, I was hired as an export manager with the goal of building up the U.S. lumber market and further developing the few existing customers at that time. Through acquisition and a lot of work, after 2 ½ years I succeeded in expanding this segment to such an extent that 15% of the company's sales were processed through my desk. Later, I was also entrusted with the China, Japan and South Korea segment, where I was able to meet my sales targets. A major customer for our products was the U.S. Armed Forces, who used our products in all areas of operations My responsibilities at Ante-Holz included: - Acquiring new customers as well as supporting existing customers - Verifying that the products sold met country specific codes and standards. This also included internal material testing - monitoring the production of the sold products - calculation and handling of "special cuts" - participation in trade fairs and conferences in the sales territories - handling of transport to the specific countries (sea, container, truck transport) - The sales territories included: o USA o Canada o South Korea o Japan o China o North Africa These activities required a dedicated planning of the trips as well as an international travel activity of 30-40%.
