Provide Civil Engineering services for a large city-wide security system tying into the fiber-optic telecom network (20,000 cameras on 4,000 poles). Design/Planning• Participate as member of design team for high-priority sites (malls, hotels, government buildings, airports, bridges).• Design License Plate Recognition (LPR) networks to monitor vehicles moving between pre-designated zones.• Check for conflicts with existing utilities.• Ensure pole placement adheres to proper municipal requirements.• Analyze impact of new roadway and utility construction on existing designs, and provide cost-effective engineering solutions.• Determine proper field of view based on liaisons with Concept of Operations team.Drafting/Computer/IT• Use dynamic blocks to create Field of View and Site Layout Drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2014 and Google Earth. • Import GPS data, Google Earth image overlays, and up-to-date city base maps (roads, utilities, private plots) into AutoCAD Civil 3D 2014 for detailed analysis of pole placement.• Compile and edit Bills of Materials based on shifting design parametersField work• Perform Constructability Walkdown Review surveys to determine feasibility of planned designs based on existing field conditions.• Assist Sensor Engineers in performing on-site mast surveys to determine optimal field of view based on Civil pole placement and Concept of Operations design.Quality Assurance/Quality Control• Coordinate project deliverables with team of Civil, Sensor, and Electrical engineers in order to perform Quality Assurance checks.• Ensure consistency of data between all documents including Field of View/Site Layout Drawings, Field of View Report, Bill of Materials, Power/Communications Connectivity Diagram, Ports List, Camera Translation Table, and IP Scheme.• Conduct liaisons with Agile database administrators to ensure smooth flow of ECR (Engineering Change Request) and ECO (Engineering Change Order) processes.
