Tim Baye is a Professor of Business Development/Energy Finance and a State Energy specialist with the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Division of Extension. His research and educational efforts serve energy and clean-tech business, professional and policy leaders. He has developed, taught and managed business education programs serving owners, executives, senior management, investors and lenders throughout Wisconsin and beyond. Baye has been a leader in the development of specialized educational, research and advisory programs for Wisconsin’s electrical power, bioenergy, agri-business and manufacturing sectors. Baye is a frequent speaker at international, national and regional renewable energy conferences. Baye's expertise includes: project formation, planning and modeling; marketing strategy and strategic planning; project financing, analysis and development; capital budgeting; financial analysis and pricing.From 2005-06, Baye served as CEO of Lafayette BioAg, LLC (LBA). LBA is a technology and project development firm, and developed Symbiosys™, an integrated agricultural-energy campus which efficiently combines ethanol, livestock, digesters, electrical, fertilizer, thermal and floriculture production into a near closed-loop system. Since 1985 Baye has been a managing member of ReCon Associates, an energy consulting & project development firm. He provides project analysis, business development, investment counsel & professional development services. Baye's clients include numerous renewable energy, agri-business & manufacturing companies, the Open Society Institute, the U.S. DOE, U.S. DoD, U.S. AID, World Bank, and multiple state agencies across the U.S. Baye has extensive international experience, including work throughout Western & Central Europe, Northern Africa, Central & South America, the Caribbean and Australia. Much of Baye’s ReCon Associate practice involves owner's advisory for renewable energy projects and international business development. .
