Term Contract Position• assisted planning and executing strategy to close home office: translating, reporting and liquidating legacy general ledger accounts; cover for lost staffing; redirecting business relationships, record and data storage/retention

• Responsible for retail merchandise accounting for 200 retail stores including monthly cost of sales calculations and general ledger posting;• oversight for fuel accounting and related credit card accounts receivable (3 subordinates)• oversight for inventory audit, variance analyses, shrink control programs (1 subordinate)• maintain overall accuracy and integrity of financial information through design and maintenance of store and host accounting systems, created general ledger transactional database and balancing process, maintained PDI/RMS enterprise systems;• assist in monthly close and financial statement preparation, assist in outside audit work paper preparation and review;• prepare assigned reconciliations and review subordinate account analyses;• oversight for all management reporting and analyses (2 subordinates);• collection and consolidation of payroll time entry for ~2000 retail associates including OT/premium calculations and vacation benefit management; maintain payroll coding, create weekly file for upload to Paychex and general ledger distribution of processed payroll• initiated and actively supported internal help desk to assist store management customers with any technical or business issue, included week end shifts;• project management and initiative support – external data interface design (e.g. warehouse invoice and pricing feeds), support business managers as needed• design, implementation and support of internal retail price book and marketing functions such as shelf tag program, technical execution of promotional programs, vendor rebate collection (and ledger distribution) and training.

• Lead project manager for design and execution of strategy to migrate 209 Wilson Farms stores to stand-alone systems for subsequent sale of division;• Selection and configuration of enterprise software, store management and office support training, dedicated office staffing, decoupling from and financial consolidation back to legacy accounting systems. • Upon successful project completion promoted to head of Wilson Farms accounting with 35 total subordinates organized under three direct reports.• Assumed most responsibilities detailed in above Accounting/Systems Manager position

• Assigned to multi-company team tasked by Dutch parent Royal Ahold, N.V. with consolidating the financial accounting systems of seven major supermarket operating companies to a single accounting platform located at Carlisle, PA.; • general ledger mapping, financial data translation, financial report creation and validation, data-base management, and user acceptance by operating companies.

• Design and manage proforma return on investment analyses for potential new store and remodel investments; submission to corporate officers and parent company (Royal Ahold, NV.) for capital expenditure approval; • performed ad-hoc ROI for staffing, equipment, software and other capital expenditure requests;• develop and report post-mortem results against proforma and return on asset analyses,• compile resources and documents in support of parent company reporting;• create and consolidate fiscal budgets and monthly variance analysis.
