At its peak employed nearly 1,000 personnel (including franchised locations) and went from $0 to approximately $40 million in systemwide sales.

A portfolio company of American Restaurant Holdings acquired in January 2015. Muscle Maker (NASDAQ: GRIL) is a healthy fast casual restaurant brand founded in 1995. Currently there are nearly 40 store locations with a key focus being military bases for corporate stores along with franchised locations. Identified, structured, negotiated, and acquired the company on behalf of American Restaurant Holdings. Post-acquisition assumed the Acting CEO role for a limited time and thereafter assisted management in the growth and direction of the Muscle Maker business model and brand as Chairman.

Regional private investment fund where we made minority investments in lower middle market companies and below. We had a multi-industry focus which included healthcare, information technology, business services, and software. I personally led our company's direct investments into First Surgical Partners (outpatient surgery centers + hospital), Hygea Health Holdings (healthcare holding company that acquired primary care and specialty physician practices along w/diagnostic labs - similar to the Kaiser Permanente model), Apollo Medical (hospitalist services and integrated population healthcare management), and US Dermatology (aggressive acquirer of dermatology practices). I was instrumental in working with management to identify strategic acquisition opportunities, assisted in due diligence of the target acquisition including valuation, and provided insight into final deal term negotiations. In addition, I advised these companies on their overall business plan and growth strategy - primarily their acquisition "roll up" strategy and post-deal integration.

Led the Investment Banking Department with a focus on mergers and acquisitions for this licensed broker/dealer. Conducted more than two dozen transactions including initial public offerings, private placements, and platform acquisitions tied to a “roll up” strategy. Several representative investments included Liberator Medical (NYSE:LBMH, acquired by C.R. Bard) and MedDirect Latino.
