AVX purchased the sensing division of TT Electronics in 2017. It manufactures electronic components, sensors, and antenna solutions for use across a broad range of markets.I worked on developing high speed, low cost position sensors for electric motors. Work was split between building relationships with manufacturers of motors, motor controllers and end users to tune our offerings for the industrial market, and developing custom sensing solutions for EV powertrains for OEMs.Highlights: I worked out techniques to better than halve the size of our sensors for truck OEMs while maintaining the performance customers were expecting. I developed the samples and built relationships with the team at the OEM, leading to a large contract for a second platform while the first was still in early development.

The sensing and control division of TT Electronics focused primarily on industrial and automotive sensors. My role involved working on safety critical solutions using magnetic, inductive, and magento-inductive sensors, performing technical due diligence on potential acquisition targets, and undertaking market research into technology areas.Highlights: I was awarded the group wide TT Exceptional Award for the project I led that evaluated a new sensing platform and developed it from inventor’s samples through to automotive production. My contribution included evaluation of technology/competitive landscape, working as part of the licensing team, simulation and prototype development, patenting critical technical improvements and supporting the production team with process development and yield improvement. I worked with sales visiting potential customers and secured the initial business win in a risk adverse sector.

-Design and development of novel sensor technologies, from a conceptual stage, through theoretical modelling and delivery of initial prototypes to liaising with customers to develop a finished commercial product.-Evaluation and assessment of technologies for the TT electronics Sensors Division.

Studied Organic Superconductors at high pressures and low temperatures simultaneously using infra-red spectroscopy, magentoresistance techniques, high field superconducting magnets and diamond anvil pressure cells. Modelled results using Matlab to investigate the validity of possible mechanisms for high temperature superconductivity.
