Highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager who has enjoyed a unique mix of experiences in a variety of operational, fire safety and strategic leadership roles during 38 years’ within Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service.Experienced in Fire Safety Law, Enforcement /Prosecution, Audit, and Risk Assessment, I have been providing technical fire safety support to the services Fire Safety Protection teams since January 2015. The most enjoyable aspect of the job is having the responsibility of training new firefighters in legislative fire safety.In April 2019 I have was appointed the Fire Safety expert to MHCLG Social Sector (Building Safety) Engagement Best Practice Group. The purpose of the group was to develop best practice in resident engagement, influencing policy development and fostering culture change specifically on building safety issues following Grenfell. It is anticipated that some of the best practices identified via the project team will become national guidance once guidance is produced to support the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022.I am an active member (Fellow) of the Institution of Fire Engineers, Registered Engineering Technician and undertake application reviews for the Eng Tech qualifications.
