Adapting to technical change is crucial to ship owners, and I’m passionate to ensure they can embrace new technology. Leading the development of OnWatch Scout, MacGregors answer to the unpredictable nature of operating a vessel, I have the opportunity to do so: Understanding what our customers actually need, finding the best way we can serve them, and enabling our development team to deliver stunning solutions are the tasks that fill me with joy every day.

Thinking outside the box, working on what has never existed before and embracing uncertainty: That’s what research projects are alike, and the funded multi-year project “FernSAMS” was no exception. As part of a consortium working towards the vision of remote controlled harbor tugs, I gratefully took the project & development lead for MacGregor’s part, an autonomous solution to perform a line transfer from the tug towards the vessels served, including recovery; patent applied.
