In daily life I am a relaxed person with a positive attitude, and a down-to-earth mindset. What drives me in my carreer is a concern for society in how it will deal with the changing climate, and the question of what my personal contribution can be. With my knowledge of both mechanical engineering and materials, I aim to make a positive contribution to the sustainability of products and supply chains at the base level of resource acquisition and manufacturing. To this end I graduated on the topic of hydrogen embrittlement in steels on which my PhD research is also focussed. This research will contribute towards the design of steel that are capable of transporting and storing hydrogen safely, which plays a big part in the upcoming hydrogen economy.
