During my time working for one company, I have had many great adventures. From streamlining the mail order process, to adding us to several reseller platforms, making friends, putting the right album into a customer's collection. During the lockdown, I typed up 16K albums into the database. I’ve treated rock stars like regular people and regular people like rock stars. I want them to feel appreciated. I will put holy grail albums into hands.A few highlights:I took a customer's postcard that was inscribed with an audio message. The message was recorded by Gillette razor company of his father, on a naval ship during World War II before he was born. His father never returned. I was able to digitize it, a message to his family at home. A recording of a voice never heard.A record I mailed to Germany ended up being lost within the postal system. In constant contact with the buyer, I tried every solution available, but we came to the conclusion it was gone. 9-months later, the order was returned to the shop. It had somehow gone to Germany, then Greenland, then lost for 8 months. I opened the box, and the item was intact, thanks to my professional packing job. I contacted the customer, we had a laugh, I then got it back in the mail to him, this time arriving safe and sound.I participated in a documentary film about local Chicagoland record stores called Re-Vinylized. Just an idle conversation with the documentarian before going home for the day, while my boss was finishing up a phone call earned me a call-in for being on film myself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SGk76IqlSEPlanning the Record Store Day event every year has been a great time. From ordering all the special releases, to booking bands to play in or outside the store, I have made it all happen. The event leaves customers and staff in a great mood.With family and friends, I am the go-to consult for technology, bourbon & pet care advice. People appreciate my perspective. My hobbies and interests are varied. I learn fast and work hard.
