CurrentAIPH (www.aiph.org) is the international organisation representing growers of ornamental plants, trees and flowers. Countries are represented in membership through their trade organisation. I am responsible for the management of AIPH which includes:Management and administration of AIPH Board, meetings (Annual Congress and Spring Meetings),Committees, strategy and communications.Green City Committee - facilitate the sharing of information and best practice in the worldwide application of Green City concepts - demonstrating the benefits of increased quality planting in urban areas via conferences and newsletters.Exhibitions Committee - approval and monitoring of international horticultural exhibitions to ensure they comply with the 1928 International Convention relating to Exhibitions and AIPH regulations. Work to ensure the highest possible horticultural and event standards to enable the promotion of plants, flowers, gardens and gardening worldwide. Recent examples include Doha (Qatar - 2023), Suncheon (Korea - 2023), Kahramanmaras (Turkiye - 2023), Floriade (Netherlands - 2022), Hatay (Turkiye - 2022), Yangzhou (China - 2021), Beijing (China - 2019), Taichung (Chinese Taipei - 2018), Antalya (Turkey - 2016), Tangshan (China - 2016), Qingdao (China - 2014), Suncheon (South Korea - 2013). Exhibitions coming up include Chengdu (China - 2024), Izmir (Turkiye - 2026), Udon Thani (Thailand - 2026), Yokohama (Japan - 2027).Ornamentals Production - facilitating the sharing of information and developing industry policy statements on topics including plant health, water, pesticides, sustainability, invasive plants and novelty protection.Statistics - production and publication of annual statistical yearbook detailing global production and trade in ornamental horticulture.International Grower of the Year - organisation and promotion of this important competition and the awards ceremony.FloraCulture International (FCI) - publication of global industry magazine
