I have been a certified Georgia Peace Officer for 35 years and during my career I have worked as a city police officer, state correctional officer, state peace officer and deputy sheriff. I attended the police academy in 1989 when I was 20 years old and even though state law allows persons under 21 years old to become police officers, my father had to buy my handgun and bullets. In 1995, I became a P.O.S.T. Certified Firearms Instructor and in 1999, I became a P.O.S.T. Certified General Instructor. In 2000, I was certified as a P.O.S.T Defensive Tactics Instructor and P.O.S.T. Emergency Medical Instructor. In 2002, I started my employment with the Catoosa County Sheriff's Office. Over the last 22 years, I've served as a Deputy, Corporal, Detective Sergeant and currently Lieutenant as the Agency Training Coordinator. In 2023, I obtained my P.O.S.T. Senior Instructor Certification and currently teach/schedule a wide variety of general and high liability classes.
