In this role, I worked to adapt an existing planning and scheduling product to a new domain (mining, minerals, and metals). This involved collaborating with the existing product team in Cambridge, UK, to restructure the code to support multiple domains. I also led the local feature teams, providing design, implementation, and testing guidance. This culminated in a successful first release to market in September 2016.

In this role I led a team of 12 developers tasked with investigating and fixing bugs reported in our flagship SCADA product. This included mentoring team members in analysis, debugging, and resolution skills, as well as a strong focus on process improvement. During my time in this role, we cut the backlog of bugs awaiting resolution so that new bugs were being worked on within 2 weeks of being reported (previously in excess of 14 weeks).

As a Support Programmer, my role was to analyse, debug, and resolve bugs reported against our flagship SCADA product. This included producing targeted hotfixes, regression testing, and making recommendations for addressing technical debt uncovered along the way. One major achievement in this role was a major overhaul of the build process for hotfixes, allowing us to produce targeted, tested, repeatable hotfixes for customers.

In this role I worked on a major project to deliver the control systems and electrical fitout for the Lane Cove Tunnel, a road tunnel in northern Sydney. As an engineer with experience in a broad range of technologies, my role spanned the full stack of control systems, including PLC, integration, SCADA and HMI. One major achievement in this position was the implementation of the traffic incident detection algorithm used to automate switching of CCTV.

Alstom was contracted to upgrade the TransAdelaide Railway control and passenger information systems. My responsibilities included design and implementation of the SCADA/HMI, as well as electrical and systems integration design.

As a part of the venue management team for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Water Polo venue, I coordinated various aspects of the installation and commissioning of technology required for the Olympic Games. This included such things as lights, power, timing and scoring equipment, computers, fixed and mobile telecommunications, computers and audio gear. I was also jointly responsible for managing a team of ~30 volunteers providing technical support during the Games themselves.
