I drive the national agenda strategy on the mitigation of gang activity and county lines and am Lead Responsible Officer for five proactive policing and partnership teams. I work closely with the Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC), the Home Office (HO) and a range of key statutory and non-statutory organisations, sitting on numerous Home Office and MOPAC working groups and panels, to drive the proactive reduction of gang criminality. I am a subject matter expert on the "county line" phenomenon - the exploitation of often young and vulnerable individuals to support gang related drug activity. I lead the MOPAC Task and Finish Group and work nationally to identify national best practice and highlight this escalating threat to statutory agencies and communities. I identified modern slavery as key within this threat and worked with legal partners to pioneer the use of modern slavery legislation to secure the first national charges. I lead on the development of changes to knife legislation. Working with MOPAC, I created Operation Sceptre to proactively reduce knife crime and also serve as the National Police Chiefs Council (NPCC) knife lead; driving national days of action and embedding best practice to reduce knife crime. I also serve as the national police lead on the new Drug Dealing Telecommunication Restriction Orders legislation. I am a Home Office Peer Reviewer, undertaking numerous reviews of Community Safety partnerships across the UK in relation to the HO Ending Gang Violence and Exploitation Programme.This is a highly challenging and dynamic role requiring subject matter expertise and the ability to respond to diverse and ever evolving risk. Devising, testing and implementing an organisation wide gang operating model, I developed a gang violence matrix to identify and prioritise violent gang members. This initiative sought to reduce youth murders and identify individuals who would respond to diversion from gang culture. This was model was successful and remains as current best practice. Within this new unit, I designed and implemented an intelligence led crime desk to challenge priority gun, drug and acquisitive crime in London. I oversaw the gathering and dissemination of intelligence to boroughs and specialist crime team, ensuring compliance with all legal and ethical requirements including the National Intelligence Model and Intelligence Handling Conditions.

I designed and implemented the MPS Prolific and Priority Offenders Scheme, reducing crime by targeting those causing most harm to communities. Implementation was monitored through the London Crime Reduction Delivery Board in conjunction with the London Criminal Justice Board. Delivering sensitivity to the agendas of diverse partners with differing agendas and restrained budgets, this scheme was successfully implemented throughout London.

I moved through a range of training and development; specialising in detective duties having demonstrated an intelligent eye for detail, enquiry and observation. I was selected to join the first London wide Crime Squad targeting organised crime moving on to specialist gang units and Serious and Organised Crime Group. I managed the most serious crime, consistently demonstrating the ability to manage risk under intense pressure, enhance team performance and drive positive change.
