Vice President & Senior DirectorChester County Economic Development Council & Seedcopa Nov 2002 - Aug 2012Exton, Pa - Pennsylvania, UsWhen hired by the CCEDC, revered by the State as one of the premier economic development organizations in Pennsylvania, I was tasked to execute an organizational wide corporate support program, administer the Commonwealth's Team PA calling program, later named the Business Retention and Expansion Program (BREP) and to make Small Business Administration (SBA) and Industrial Development Authority (IDA) tax-exempt loans all to help fund the efforts of the organization.Southeastern Economic Development Company of Pennsylvania (Seedcopa) was a recognized Area Loan Organization by the SBA and one of the lending arms of the CCEDC.There were three separate Industrial Development Authorities within Chester County, where the CCEDC was the administration for all three, and provided tax-exempt loans to manufacturers, farmers and non-profit entities. Through sound corporate outreach, relationship building and business development efforts, I was able to grow the corporate support for the organization by 14 times with an 86% year-over-year retention rate.Through BREP, I pro-actively met with over 150 C-level executives of different companies and business owners, each year, assuring they were aware of the many resources available to them. Once needs were identified, I introduced those companies to the correct resources and programs to help them grow or retain them from fleeing the State. I was the lead contact for the Governor's Action Team (GAT) for Chester County attraction, retention and expansion projects leading to millions of dollars in grants awarded to the private sector stimulating hundreds of millions more in private sector investment. This lead to the creation of thousands of jobs and millions of dollars in increased tax rateables for the county and many local municipalities therein. -
