As the division chief, providing oversight of the Directorate’s Manpower/Personnel, Command Readiness Reporting, Command Information Management, Training/Exercises, Battle Staff Synchronization and the planning and execution of the Directorate’s annual budget of $9 million.

Responsible for planning, and executing, the J3 Directorate resources (funding and manning), strategic planning, information management, training, education, and joint and combined exercises to support the J3 staff on Homeland Defense (HLD) and Defense Support to Civil Authorities (DSCA) missions. Responsible for assessment and reporting of the commands Joint Quarterly Readiness Report to the Joint Staff. Represents the Deputy Commanding General, ARNG, ACS and DACS (Deputy ACS), ARNG at meetings, workshops, and conferences as needed.

Serves as Executive Officer, Recruiting Officer, and Instructor for Mississippi State University’s Reserve Officer’s Training Corps (ROTC) Battalion. Responsible for administration, operations, and plans supporting the battalion’s 150 cadets and eight cadre; as well as, recruiting, marketing, and public affairs among two universities, six community/junior colleges, and 64 high schools. Supervise two civilian employees (one federal and one state), and all recruiting campaigns conducted by cadre and cadets. Instruct, mentor and counsel all lieutenants serving as Goldbar Recruiters, completion cadets, and the cadet S-5 staff section. Also serves as Contracting Officer Representative on national and local advertising campaigns as well as battalion small purchase contracts.

• Responsible for administration of discipline for approximately 530 9th graders and 50 9th and 10th grade special education students. Acted as Principal for overall school operations in the absence of the Principal; oversight of the In-School-Suspension (ISS) program, after school detention program, Teacher Duty Schedule, Teacher Evaluations (1/3 of the faculty), student and faculty ID’s; served on the District Expulsion Review Board, Alternative School Placement Committee.• Assisted with the consolidation of two 4A level high schools within the Columbus School District. Responsible for teaching Drivers Education Classes, and certified to administer the Driving Test for the Mississippi Highway Patrol. Revised the ISS Plan for the Columbus High School West and was responsible for the oversight of that program. Implemented a 7th grade intramural program for the Columbus Public School District involving over 100 students each year. Remained the assistant high school boys basketball/B-team coach for three years, in which we successfully made it to the state playoffs one of the three years.• Responsible for teaching Drivers Education Classes and certified to administer the Driving Test for the Mississippi Highway Patrol. Revised the ISS Plan for Caldwell High School and was responsible for the oversight of that program. Taught 9th grade Consumer Science and Applied Life Science. Coached Jr. High and High School Football as well as Assistant High School/ B-Team Basketball for six years, in which we were successful in making it to the High School Basketball State Playoffs four of those years.
