As an Advisor in the Office of Policy at the Department of Energy, I contributed to the Administration’s interagency efforts to reinvest in coal, power plant, and oil and gas communities.

During my time at Clean Energy Counsel, I was assigned to Google where I served as in-house product counsel for the development and successful launch of Nest Renew.

As a fellow with the Center for Energy and Sustainable Development at WVU College of Law, I researched, promoted, and advanced opportunities for West Virginia to reduce emissions while creating jobs and investment, with a focus on the power and industrial sectors.

As an Associate in the Energy and Infrastructure Practice Group, I:- Counseled developers and load-serving entities as they crafted innovative distributed energy projects, including virtual power plants (utilizing a combination of distributed generation, distributed storage, smart devices, and demand response), community solar products, energy efficiency services, and microgrids.- Negotiated power procurement contracts involving emission-free energy resources (e.g., renewable power purchase agreements and energy storage agreements), including hundreds of megawatts of projects with community choice aggregator offtakers.- Advised developers and investors in renewable energy project financings (totaling more than 1,000 megawatts of utility-scale projects and more than $500 million of distributed-scale projects) with a focus on community choice aggregator and community solar projects.- Analyzed and provided advice regarding state and federal energy policy and regulations.

Antitrust Division, Transportation, Energy & Agriculture Section

During the course of my time at ACORE (serving first as a program associate and subsequently as a program manager), I: - Managed international program planning and budgeting, nearly tripling the revenue of the U.S.-China Program after assuming management by recruiting sponsors and expanding activities.- Launched and served as editor of the U.S.-China Quarterly Market Review, a review of clean energy policy and business developments in the U.S. and China.- Planned, managed, and hosted international clean energy trade and investment forums among government and industry participants in coordination with U.S. federal agencies.- Provided interviews to journalists and promoted programs through social media platforms.- Served as ACORE’s lead staff in a successful joint application for a USAID grant in collaboration with five other clean energy organizations.- Trained and supervised a program associate and several interns.
