My wife and I have been married for almost 30 years and are the proud parents of adult boy/girl twins. We also are the proud “parents” of two great dogs, a high-energy, 75 lb. Husky mix named Jack and a much smaller - but very much in charge - miniature dachshund named Max (aka “Dude”).For 25 years, I was a pastor - twice in established churches (Laguna Hills and Seal Beach), and once as the lead pastor of a church plant in Long Beach. Speaking of Long Beach; that’s where I live today with my family and we have no plans on ever leaving this great city. My wife is a public school teacher here. Our children grew up here and still love to come back home. Our lives and loves are in this city. It’s in Long Beach where I’ve experienced the greatest growth in my life, both personally and professionally. I’m originally from Kansas City, Missouri, but have long considered myself a Southern Californian. I moved out in the early 1990s to attend L.I.F.E. Bible College and then later BIOLA University. While I wouldn’t trade my time at either school, l appreciate Mark Twain’s sentiment: “I try to not let my schooling interfere with my education.” In my free time, you’ll find me walking the dogs or enjoying a meal at a local restaurant with my wife or friends. But most of the time you’ll find me in one of the many great Long Beach coffee shops. Coffee is my love language and I’m constantly working on that relationship! I’m grateful for the life I’ve been given. God has graced me with a great family and so many good friends, teachers, mentors, therapists, and coaches. I’ve received so much from so many and count it a joyful responsibility to be able to pay it forward.
