Seconded to lead cemented paste backfill recovery and transformation project; specifically responsible for site paste backfill performance with more than 50% of 2018 gold Oz at risk. Results: 2018 paste performance up 40% on 2017 fully supporting production sequence and profile, inclusive of two month hiatus due to blockage at the start of the year.- Triaged and prioritising activities to optimise paste fill placement aligned with production schedule- Co-ordinated a matrix resourced multi-disciplinary team of site and regional personnel- Addressed tails quality and supply constraints; revising tails mining plan, commissioning filter cake plant. Subsequently devised blending processes to utilise filter cake found to be otherwise unsuitable for paste fill- Reticulation blockage recovery, network expansion to support production sequence and installation of blockage mitigation controls- Address paste plant reliability and addition of process control feedback loops

Underground Manager / Alternate Mine Manager with key responsibilities in the safe production of ounces from the Tanami UG DBS operation. Owner operator mining workforce of 200 plus - including operational and technical reports. Highlights:- Member of Turnaround Team that moved Tanami to one of the top three UG gold producers in Australia and now a key asset in the Newmont portfolio- On time and on budget second decline development to move production from 2.3 to 2.6 mtpa- Year on year improvements in safety, mine productivity and ounce production- Championed the Newmont Full Potential Program- Championed Vital Behaviours to empower mining team to own safety code of conduct- Continuous improvement: driving t.km, UofA, payload optimisation; reinvigorating mine development (reduced fleet 20%, increase total metres 20%) and optimised stope sequencing. Focus on mine standards and changing culture resulting in a five fold TRIFR improvement in 5 years ; and quantum leap in mine planning co-ordination and compliance of operational activities

Primary focus continuous improvement of the operation: identification of opportunities, developing solutions with the operations team and implementing.

Management of a 3.1Mt plus open stoping and bench mining operation. Dual role encompassing the underground mine manager’s role, as well as overseeing all technical staff, and responsibility for management of mine KPIs for production, grade and costs. Despite significant operational issues, record production was achieved.

In charge of underground mining activities, involving coordination of the production schedule, management of development contractor and completion of decline connecting the upper levels of North and South mining areas. Record production was achieved.

Led a skilled technical team, encompassing project and contract management on a block cave pre-feasibility study in the previously abandon 500 orebody, involving management of reactive ground, project schedules and financials.

Contract management of a 4Mtpa surface haulage and backfill reclamation mining operations including the redesign of the mining method. Management of underground goods and service contracts.
