The AIA Austin Design Awards recognizes outstanding work by Austin architects, both in the city and across the country. The purpose of the awards program is to honor the architects, clients, and consultants who work together to achieve design excellence.

This committee plans AIA Austin's annual Honor Awards for Architecture, including a live presentation to an audience of more than 200 each April.

Repetual is developing products that deliver a low cost, renewable source of energy for families around the world. Our products will supply both light and mobile device charging capabilities for people who would otherwise go without or spend a significant portion of their overall income to obtain it.As an architect and LEED AP, I bring over ten years of experience with design and the built environment. From products, packaging, and graphics to buildings, material delivery methods, and sustainable practices, I focus my talents on the interface that unifies a person and a product. I believe that good design not only makes a product beautiful, but also makes it useful, long lasting and intuitive. This philosophy has been tested and tempered in project realization with proven success, from the design phase through production. Furthermore, my good relationships with various NGO’s around the county and abroad help to broaden the potential reach of our products. Lately I split my time between managing Derrington Building Studio and working to realize the products that will help make Repetual a global success.

I began working at Webber + Studio as an architectural intern and was quickly assigned a small remodel to execute as something of a project architect. I worked under the principal, David Webber, and learned the process of residential architecture. During my time there, I managed and built multiple projects, contributed to structuring the office's infrastructure on a management team, handled much of the media relations (for projects I managed), and became a licensed architect as well as a LEED AP.

Originally, Odom | Turner Studio (Mark Odom and Daniel Turner), I was hired to help with tackle a sudden increase in projects. During my time there, I helped draft a remodel to a single family residence, designed and drafted a custom display cases for a cycling boutique, and designed and modeled a prototype for a proprietary medical tool. I thoroughly enjoyed working with the principals and on the diverse design projects.

I worked for David Bers while spending a summer in New York City. I worked on miscellaneous projects from drafting on remodel in the Hamptons to a construction observation of a condo high above Union Square in Manhattan.

My first task was to design the high school concession stand for Viking Stadium in Bryan, Texas. I was fresh out of college, and designing a real building that hundreds of people would use - I loved it. I also, worked on Humble High School's SD and DD phase as well as various other deadline oriented tasks.

I was a student intern with Eubanks Group and did the basic student intern type work. It was a great office that ran like a clock.
