Managing Phoenix Services of Belgium at the ArcelorMittal Gent steel manufacturing site, overseeing all aspects of operations and holding P&L responsibility. Led a team of 160 employees, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services while driving HSSE to a higher level.

Oostende

Engaged in metal flow engineering within the ceramic industry, with focus on serving the steel sector. Overseeing operations with an annual turnover of €30M and a workforce of 100 FTEs, responsibilities encompassed managing manufacturing sites for raw materials and refractory manufacturing. Achievements, turnaround in HSE, quality, efficiency performance, and social climate. Additionally, development of a local management Team structure and streamlined the HSE and quality organization, resulting in ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certification. Further accomplishments include driving a 30% increase in OEE at the raw material manufacturing facility and a 20% efficiency boost at the refractory manufacturing facility, along with leading a successful transformation project.

Belgium

Driving global operational excellence approach within the precipitated silica sector with an annual turnover of $250M and 700 FTEs. Primary focus on managing global cost structure optimizations, including the exploration of greenfield locations to drive business expansion. A notable achievement includes optimizing the global variable cost structure at an annual rate of 3%, achieved through initiatives such as implementing a global energy and raw material cost reduction program, capacity optimization in collaboration with R&D, and exploring innovative manufacturing techniques. Additionally, managing the rollout of a maintenance and supply chain excellence program. Personally led an energy improvement project at our flagship facilities in Maryland and Tennessee, US. Initiated the implementation of a global Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) program to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Overseeing J.M. Huber Belgium BVBA active within the precipitated silica sector supplying silica to the dental, rubber, feed, food, and coating industry. Despite economic challenges during the 2008-2009 crisis, initiated a financial turnaround by implementing performance monitoring tools and visualizing performance on the shop floor. Through collaborative efforts with all site employees, we defined and executed cost optimization projects, leading to significant improvements. Additionally, initiated a restructuring of the organization to streamline operations and enhance efficiency. These efforts stabilized our operations and positioned us for sustainable growth in the competitive market
