CurrentLearning about disability is not really done in a classroom or through research. We know -- we have disabilities. It’s about lived experience. What other authentic way is there, really? That is what brought us together and formed Bachelor’s in Disability -- a production team to share stories about people with disabilities living, learning, growing and thriving. Recognizing a persistent 40% employment gap between people with disabilities and people without disabilities, we have designed the Bachelor’s in Disability initiative to help change that reality. We do this by spotlighting the gaps between the available talent of people with disabilities and the experiences that impede our ability to achieve the dreams of the Americans with Disabilities Act. We share stories of our people tearing the walls of exclusion down. We do this by combining our skills and experiences to design and deliver multimedia communications campaigns that focus on what we can and are doing, everywhere. We help clients tell their stories and we build portfolios of stories that collectively educate. We are rooted in lived experience. We aren’t inspiration. We aren’t differently challenged. We are Bachelor’s in Disability and as storytellers living our lives we are building a more authentic, rich and inclusive experience for us all.
