Events Programme Manager
Current Advising heads of department and their representatives on how to arrange events to raise the profile of various branches of the council to their key business partners and members of the public, to ensure that council funding is spent as efficiently as possible. Being the lead on key civic events involving the military, police and local faith groups, such as Armed Forces Day Remembrance Day and Holocaust Memorial Day. These events included a military parade involving all members of the armed forces in the borough, veterans such as Chelsea Pensioners & Ghurkha veterans, parading through Hounslow High Street. Played a key role in the organisation of the count floor for all General & Local Elections and Referendum since starting in 2015. During my tenure at the Council, we have moved the event from the civic building to the high streets, parks and open spaces, increasing the numbers of the public who can take part, as well as forging closer relationships with our key partners, working closely with the police forces and the terrorist units in preparation for certain events. Led the organisation of a park event hosting 10,000 members of the public to celebrate the 2015 Rugby World Cup, including main stage performances, risk assessments, negotiations, sporting activities, fun fairs, tendering for various food stalls for a multi-national food court, as well as the infrastructure required for each. The budget for this was over £130,000. This was the first event of its type held by the council and was very well received by both the public, as well as the directors of the council. Income Generation for the council via advertising contracts with third parties as well as leading in the design and consultation of a new Parks and Open Spaces strategy for the council, with a view towards income generation via third party hire to increase usage of borough parks and income to reinvest in regen projects for residents.
