My overall responsibility was to work with customers to make their software investment a success. Working on a variety of platforms in various industries, I consulted with customers to make architecture decisions, install and configure software, and I mentored application development. I conducted workshops to demonstrate new features and best practices for developing modern, efficient BI platforms tailored to their specific needs. I also assisted IB support staff to resolve customer issues for both software application and programming problems. I supported the annual IB Summit conference by staffing the Expert Room to assist customers with various types of configuration and development assistance. Also, although this is not a pre-sales position, I assisted and was directly involved with winning a $1.2M new account.

My longest continuous position at Transamerica was to develop and support BI applications to provide sales analytics, trend analysis and forecasting to the Sales organization and external partners. To accomplish this, I built and supported an internal self-service BI application that provided accurate and timely results to over 300 internal staff. I also built an embedded reporting application that provided information on sales opportunities and statistics to over 60,000 external partner users. These projects required constant collaboration with the DBA to optimize data quality, architecture, and flow. And required constant collaboration with web developers to provide an easy to use method to access this information. I also worked extensively with scheduling software (Reportcaster) to provide automatically distributed reports and data accuracy tests.

As the Technology Director for Worksite Marketing I was responsible for projects related to supporting insurance enrollment using digital methods. I worked with the Department of Insurance in each of the 48 states where we were licensed to get legal approval for digital document signing. I also developed, implemented, and applied a certification program for software developers wanting to develop and use their software to enroll employees in company sponsored benefit plans. The software created and used as a result of this certification process enabled enrollers to use built in underwriting rules, digital signing, and digital data gathering to expedite this process lowering the cost and reducing the time to complete enrollment.
