Tim is Professor of Organisational and Innovation Analysis and Pro-Dean for Research, Impact and Innovation at Cardiff Business School. He is also Co-Director of Cardiff University's Digital Transformation Innovation Institute at Cardiff University and a social entrepreneur having co-founded Zero Carbon 2030 Community interest Company in 2020. Prior to his position as Pro-Dean Tim headed a group of over 50 academics in the Management, Employment and Organisation Section at Cardiff Business School.His research interests currently include developing impactful social interventions based on the idea of responsible innovation. This work includes research in the Atlantic Forest, Brazil developing inquiry-led learning (citizen science) projects with colleagues in ecology, social and computer science that are designed to empower the youth in poor rural communities to better understand and mobilise against climate change. His interest in social innovation also includes engagement work with local community groups in Cardiff. Tim has since 2017 delivered taught interventions on social enterprise to refugee adult learners in partnership with the student society, Enactus. He is currently working with colleagues in Earth and Environment Sciences and Computer Science to create carbon literacy workshops with his co-founders at Zero Carbon 2030.Tim is the lead-academic for Cardiff University's involvement in ASPECT (https://aspect.ac.uk/), which is a network established to support the comercialisation of the social sciences. He is working with colleagues across the social sciences to support new ways of facilitating academics, students and professional service staff develop entrepreneurial skills. This work includes supporting the Cambrian Fellowship, with colleagues in Cwmpas to deliver a unique programme involving social science students involved in building the next generation of social entrepreneurs.
