I look forward to the opportunity to work with a great team and learn the knowledge and skills required to achieve a long-term, meaningful career. I have never been afraid to take risks or be a leader when it’s needed. I have always loved to play sports and thrived when it was time to step up and perform under pressure. Unfortunately my career as a baseball player never took off the way I dreamt of. However, I did learn the importance of a team and that I am extremely competitive. I might even label myself a sore loser. I don’t easily accept defeat having put preparation, training, and all I’ve got into something I am passionate about. I play to win. I have found myself doing all sorts of things in my short 35 years. From running a half marathon in Scotland to rebuilding my dad’s old barn to helping my brother build computers or wire a network. The most challenging and most important of any has been being a father. It is the most challenging and rewarding job I’ve ever had. It is also the reason I am searching for a new career. I am ready to start a new career that allows me to use my creativity and intelligence to make a better life for myself and my son. I am looking for a job that I feel good about when I go home at the end of the day and am proud to be a part of. There is no doubt that I will be successful at anything I put my mind to. I am a quick learner and able to adapt to a changing environment. I embrace new information, new ideas, and new technology. I often find myself not happy until I figure out how everything works. I am a devoted employee and committed to having a long career. I am determined to accomplish goals. While it took me longer than the typical 4 years to finish my degree, I was not going to let something I put so much time into go unfinished. I completed my degree on my own time and my own dime finishing with a 3.85 GPA all while working full time as an over the road conductor with BNSF.
