Flanagan Law was formed because we believe there is a need in the HOA legal community for top notch legal advice combined with personalized customer service. We are a full service HOA law firm meaning that we will handle all legal matters for our clients from corporate counsel to enforcement litigation to assessment collections.

I am a Partner with Berding & Weil, LLP, where I provide general corporate counsel and litigation services for community associations. My practice includes advising boards of directors on the interpretation and enforcement of governing documents, negotiating and drafting of contracts, leases, easements and other agreements, providing guidance on compliance with the Davis-Stirling Common Interest Development Act, FEHA, ADA, and other statutory regulations, and drafting amendments and restatements of governing documents. I have also represented community associations in several dozen alternative dispute resolution proceedings and Court Petitions, and have successfully litigated breach of contract matters, architectural enforcement issues, encroachments, nuisances and rental restriction violations. I am an active member of the CAI and CACM. I served as the Co-Chair of the Education Committee of the San Diego Chapter of CAI from 2015-2017 and received the "Committee Member of the Year" award in 2017. I have presented several community association law classes for CACM and the Orange County and San Diego Chapters of CAI. In 2011, I was nominated as “Speaker of the Year” by the Orange County Chapter of CAI. I have written several articles concerning community association law in publications throughout Southern California. In 2016, one of my articles was nominated as “Article of the Year” by the Orange County Chapter of CAI. I am also a member of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers and the San Diego County Bar Association. Outside of work, I coach my son's Little League team, and love to hike, run, and bike around our beautiful city with my wife and two boys.
